Does anyone have any opinions or experiences with European breakdown cover for the Stag? I'm taking mine to Amsterdam in June. I am covered in the UK with GEM who are good, but their deal for Europe doesn't apply to cars over 15 years.
I got a long weekend's european cover for another car last year from RAC and it was about £40. I asked price for Stag and it was around twice that due to car's age.
Makes paying a little more for Club's scheme worthwhile.
Probably true but I have Admiral multi-car discounts, an agreed value on the Stag for 10,000 business miles per year. Do the Club's insurers cover business mileage?
i also have rac 5* through the club which I am going to seriously scale back this year now that the family chariot is not going to the south of france. RH is a good service
Stags and Range Rover Classics - I must be a loony

They would cover you for commuting to work but not using the car for business use
There's the rub - I don't use it for commuting, the bus is ⅓ the price of the car park, but when I work away I need to take the car.
Guess I'll stick with Admiral and pay £85 for RAC cover for the Amsterdam trip, that's got to be cheaper than repatriating a broken car!
A few years ago, I broke down in my Stag on the Dutch/german border on the way to an ESM in Germany. I was covered by the club scheme with RH. Within an hour a recovery truck arrived and took the car and me to their yard. As it was a public holiday, they couldn't find a hire car within 50 miles so arranged a local hotel. The next day a hire car was arranged (at insurers expence) and I continued to the ESM. I returned the hire car to where my Stag was and by then the insurers had arranged for the Stag to be repatriated to UK that day. I elected to travel with the recovery truck. The recovery driver even helped me push the Stag up on my drive.
So, I recommend the club scheme, especially as it's included within the premium.
