    water noise behind dash

    hi
    went for a spin today getting water noise from behind dash sounds like air block heater matrix how to unblock . that with the problem of coolant loss
    = any suggestions appreciated its not hg

      you will need to bleed the system again just make sure the heater valve is fully open when you do and maybe have the n/s front a bit higher jack that corner while you are filling .if you have a leak pressure test the system and find it or it will cause more problems

        thanks im planning to get it pressure tested on the weekend sorry did you mean just whack the heater on
        or is there a valve

          There is valve on the drivers side of the heater box they seize up and they are a pig to get out but can be done with a tool Tony Hart sells (expensive) or make up a puller to get it out

            which way would you access this under the bonnet or inside the car

              Richard. It could be that the heater hoses are connected up the wrong way round. The feed from the cylinder head should go the lower of the heater pipe connections on the bulkhead, and the upper one to the water pump connections. This way stops any air collecting in the system. Mine were the other way round, and caused the same noises as yours.

                    Was poised to say just that but hadn't time until now. Absolutely perfect advice though, it really works and makes things so much easier in the future. Pity the workshop manuals differ in getting it right and wrong.
