    Fuel line Grrrrrrr

I thought copper/nickel pipe was meant to be the business so got some for my new efi fuel flow and return pipes.. On unrolling it it split along its length for about 600mm. Hopefully it's just a bad roll but I'm glad I have changed the route and am not running them along the exhaust as per the standard set up. Typically I bought it at a show about 2 years ago so no chance of a refundimage.jpg

That is very unfortunate, never seen anything like that before. Just as well it is obviously knackered and not just full of little holes that only show up after fitting.

That is one problem with buying things from shows, even if it isn't a couple of years between purchase and fitment.
Last year I bought a set of Datsun jointed shafts from the TR register international bring and buy, they were cheap as it said they were for a Stag. Unfortunately they are a couple of inches too short for a Stag, and about half an inch too long for the TR!
At some point I will make up some spacers and then they will fit the Stag, those staked joint shafts will not last forever!

What rubbish. I bought copper at the Malvern Nat day, used it as flow and the original pipes as return.

Why not use the modern plastic fuel pipe. Just need to fit a spring inside warm up bend then cool off. Then remove Spring.

tell me more Glenn, how do you terminate to a rubber hose at each end? I'm open to this idea if it's better but unlike the original I do not want joints under the car just one bit of hose at each end and obviously it's now under a lot more pressure.

I would guess compression fitting with olive and possible insert. Maybe link to AN series braided hoses. Plastic pipe used a lot in industrial systems.

Hi Steve like Glen said I have used this type of fixing in the past with a metal insert in the hard plastic pipe like on commercial air lines and if you don't want connections you can use fuel pipe and clips

image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg Steve I purchased a 15ft length of BXP/ Tube Din 74324 made by ABC Ltd of fleabay it came with two inserts if you wish to use compression fittings. But it is equally as good by warming up in hot water and sliding over fitting when it cools it creates a air and fuel tight seal plenty of info on you tube as used on diesel pumps.

I admit that I have not experimented with the bending yet but have purchased a drain cleaner spring that I need to cut the end off before I insert and bend with hot water.

                  Cheers Glenn

Why don't you drop Stagsongas a message, he deals with high pressure fuel lines as he does gas conversions, he maybe able to point you in the right direction for a suitable fuel line and how to route and terminate them correctly.
