rear wheel bearings

    rear wheel bearings

    i had some one fit new rear bearings for me,now the drive flange is bent can i salvage any thing now,i know i have to fine a new drive flange and replace the spacer,but can i reuse the bearings,or do i have to replace every thing again ?

    No reason why you can't repack and reuse the bearings if they have done no or little miles Dave. A grease packer is only a couple £'s or put them in a polythene bag filled with some LM grease and force the grease in to them.

      thanks,no haven't yet been on the car, until today when i tired them,and found the drive flanges bent,so not pleased

        found a pair of drive shafts in the shed today,but they are not the circilp type,will the front drive flange fit my later circlip type drive shafts

          IIRC the flanges are the same and you can have the peened type UJ's converted to circlip type, if you know someone capable.
