SORN - Rear End problems

Definitely SORN'd - not SORE! -but just SORN'd the Stag as I want to resolve the rear end twitch and cure the rather noisy and badly leaking diff. Loads of other little jobs to do but the rear end is first.

Question is - do I buy a secondhand diff and take a chance, or do I remove mine, send it to someone reputable for a rebuild and hope the CW&P is OK and it can be re-set to quieten it down? (Tony Hart recommended not swopping the CW&P if at all possible.)

Easiest and quickestmay be to buy another diff., but with so many tales of noisy ones, I may end up back in the same boat?Also want to renew trailing arm bushes etc so may become a major task. Seen the article in Triumph World - doesn't it make it look easy.

Any suggestions/recommendations - live in the Midlands and prefer local suppliers.

You could try speaking to these guys or look in the yellow pages. If you need help removing the diff let me know I have done this job before and can lend a hand if available.

Cheers Stuart, I assume Geartech would rebuild mine, which is what I would prefer? I'll give them a call. Did you ever do your driveshafts?

I've a list including;

New Brake Discs to fit, Rear Seatbelts, Mudflaps and some new Chrome wheel nuts, also fitting a towbar for my trailer (not a pod though) so I'm going to be busy once I start. That and the bad weather, snow and salt prompted me to SORN it. Can always re-tax when done.

I'll let you know how I progress.
