    Interior fasteners

    Hi all,

I'm in the process of stripping my parcel shelf and facia etc. out. I seem to have a whole hotchpotch of different fasteners and nut plates etc. Any ideas where the definitive fastener list / kit can be obtained please?

Some of the self tapper nut plates are just hideous to an aerospace engineer like what I am, but if that's the OEM then so be it!

    Cheers all

Hi Mark, Given your car is 40+ years old and been apart at least once, probably had a number of owners and service personal of various skills and attitude, this isn't surprising. All you can do is go through a factory parts manual and identify the ones you want to replace or remake. The likes of Rimmers, LD Parts, etc maybe able to supply some but you will probably end up needing to use your own skills to your own satisfaction.
    Cheers Ian A

Find a friend with a near as untouched car as pos. and try and copy. I was (un)lucky and had 2 cars

Chances are that many of the bolts have been retapped next size up self tappers replaced again with the next size plates to repair broken straps etc
plus mods made by PO's you may have to make the best job you can of it.

OK thanks all - looks like a bit of aerospace engineering might be required ha ha!

I've had a few dashes out and don't recollect any actual threads being damaged or oversized, however the various spire clips have taken a fair old bashing

            Cheers

I've had a few dashes out too. Mainly when it's pi$$ing down and I suddenly remembered I hadn't closed the sunroof.

I've seen a few oversized threads too. Mainly on this forum.

Nowadays in aerospace we tend to glue most structural parts together!
