What is it with Stags that makes them attract so much attention!?
Went for a ride out with the misses To Galletas, but there was something going on there and couldn't park, so continued round the corner and parked at Ten Bel. Heard music being played and people were dancing outside in the open air by a Bar we normally go to to dance in the Winter months.
We thought the dancing had been suspended when most of the "Swallows" had gone home at the end of March, but no they had carried on, so we stopped and had a drink and a dance.
Set off back home a couple of hours later and was driving along nicely behind a new MX5 convertible, when a new yellow Renault Cactus appeared in my rear view mirror and kept attempting to overtake the both of us, even though we weren't driving slow. Eventually he did so at a tremondous speed, then slammed on his brakes half a mile up the road, jumped out of the car, and started videoing me as I drove past.
The Cactus driver then jumped back in his car again and when we got to a dual carriageway up ahead flashed past me again at high speed (I was doing about 70mph) with his passenger leaning out the window again taking photos or a video of my car as he did so, and pomped his horn a number of times, so I think it was in appreciation of coming across a nice looking white Stag on the Island.!?.

Caught on camera! This still comes from a video posted on our local news website in an article on the traffic jam yesterday when the A380 was closed due to an accident. This coincided with people leaving Torbay after the airshow. I was on my way home having played golf at Torquay.

Fitted new rear springs, 1" lower but standard rate. Got the fronts to do yet! And sort my intermittent overdrive issue and sort my oil leak from around the oil pump area before we go to Frejus in 6 weeks time!

Fitted front lowered springs and new gaiters, front looks high? Or maybe it's just me because the car looks level! Old strut gaiters lasted about 8 years and were soft rubber, new gaiters feel more like plastic! Let's see how long they last

The gaiters were from LD as the last ones were, don't really want to keep changing them. I've also noticed the hand brake rubber on the Drums have perished again. These are also from LD and when I change those that will be th 3rd set.
obviously I'm not blaming LD but rubber parts are just cr*pLast edited by Guest; 10 June 2017, 08:23.

Drove from Wareham to Sandbanks then onto Parkstone. After seeing the grandchildren drove back via the Sandbanks ferry and through some fantastic country scenery towards Corfe Castle. Then Turned right towards Wareham and home. We did chicken out of doing the run all with the top down. Dogs looked cold so it went up at the Sandbanks side of the ferry crossing. Lovely drive.

Honestly, I don't understand people who have difficulties removing core plugs from cylinder heads. Took my Stag out yesterday and extended the test run a bit further until there was a sound like a cork flying out of a champagne bottle, a trail of steam like the Flying Scotsman and a temperature gauge moving about as fast as the second hand on a watch.
Managed to limp to a lay-by and, in three 2km stages stopping, cooling and topping up with water managed to coax it home.
Just found the culprit - a cylinder head plug has departed. I remember faintly when I was installing all of the core plugs that some were dimensionally quite small on the tolerance side. At the time, I metal bashed them a bit so that the flange diameter was increased so as to make a tight interference fit. I guess when this one got nice and warm it felt somewhat annealed and wanted to return to its original (too small) size. Now just hoping I can get a new one in tightly and that any collateral damage is limited or zero.
