SO what did you you do with your Stag today?

I have another thread going but seeing as this thread has mentioned it, I will add here too.

Put a cherished number on my car (Wednesday), all done online, new V5C arrived today, with 'Historic' in taxation class, now that's magic! not a lot, but magic.

So when DVLA get it right, I think it's worth a mention.

Worthy of a mention because I have not had any of the problems so many on here seem to have incurred.

SWMBO used the online driving licence replacement service recently (she still had a paper one) just as quick, in the post 2 days later and they didn't even want a photo as they can access and use your passport one..


Going to try the online passport renewal soon, fingers crossed it's just as easy.

Update on the road tax. On reading the advice on here, I went to main Post Office No3, said to the clerk' this is the third time and I want a straight answer'. He scanned the bar code and said DVLA says it is not historic. Explained that it was already taxed and it was just the continuation I was after and it will be historic on April 1, That will cost you 6 or 12 months duty he said.(FFS) 20 mins later and the queue is building up. He then called his mate Mustafa over, Mustafa says you have to register it with DVLA first and they will change the readout on the screen before they can issue it as historic, OK I said, register it with DVLA, no no, you have to sent it in the post. So I sent it in the post and hopefully I will get the new V5 back before April 1, when I can tax it online. Oh 1 other thing, they don't give receipts for documents,V5, so I got him to stamp the second part.

Close but not as tight as some others where the bonnet pad has to be removed. Looks fantastic, all credit to you.

Flushed the cooling system and fitted a relay bypass to hopefully cure the 'click nothing' syndrome today.

No radiator fitted so just had to wriggle through the front panel
