“Picked the front grille Stag badge up off the garage floor! Seems it’s fell off!!
Will have to be Re-attached, when I sort the misfire, hopefully tomorrow.......”
Well tomorrow came and went, then busy the next day, but eventually this morning I got around to sorting the misfire;
1 wet plug on No 3 cylinder, so swopped it for a known good one, cleaned and gapped the rest. Dried the leads and distributor cap, checked both carb pistons and refitted a vacuum pipe that had come detached and took it for a blast. Wanted to get it warm so 70+ run for about 15 miles, then booted it, only to check for the misfire Officer, honest!
Returned and checked/Re-set the timing and checked for leaks etc., the damp in the Vee has now dried up again and Stagatha is back to useable health, so I re-attached the Mustang badge to the grille. Oh no, it’s a Stag!
All ready to meet Bruce, Jason and co., at Big J’s pub tomorrow now, and the weather looks reasonable as well. Hopefully a good start to 2018.
Happy New Year All!

Met up with Bruce, Ian, Flying Farmer, Richard and a few others who’s names I don’t know, sorry, at the Red Lion in Telford. It was only a 60 mile round trip but blew the cob webs out on a short run on the M54

Just spent the day re-padding the Tee bar and recovering.
Still have final fitting to do but it’s not looking bad if I say so myself.

The meet at Brooklands was very good. A really big turnout and the new Hangers were a revelation.
I went in the Porsche because it was raining so hard on the south coast that morning.
Would be a great place for a Stag meet later in the year.

At last the roads around Wareham Corfe Castle and Sandbanks were reasonably dry so took the Stag out for a quick run. Blew the co webs out. Stopped at a view point. Then the car would not start! After a number of shuffles of the auto selector the engine fired up and we started off again.
I Be been complaining about the tyre noise in our new BMW so my wife reminded me the Stag is rather noisier. I pointed out it’s the engine roar not tyre noise!

Having picked up some cheap mx5 leather seats.
These will be used while l overhall and refurbished the originals.
Made these fitting bars. Photos are before and after covering with carpet.
Just go to wire up the fasten seat belt switch....and may as well wire up the seat heaters as well.
