Still firing on seven, tried disconnecting plugs in turn but couldn’t narrow it down to any particular one. The next thing is to swap distributor cap & rotor arm (new 20,000 miles ago but you can’t get quality these days) then new plugs. If that doesn’t work I’ll try swapping out the Lumenition parts one by one.
The other thing I’ll try is a compression test, for that I need SWMBO to turn the key while I hold the gauge in the plug hole. Rather hoping it’s not a valve, it’s only two weekends until Stoneleigh!Paul - 3 projects, 1 breaker - garage built and housing 2 white Stags. One runs, one doesn't

I took the Inlet Manifold off again (3rd time in 2 weeks) to try and find the leak that occurs when filling the cooling system. Had to come off anyway as the branch that feed cyls 1&3 was not quite water/airtight under pressurisation. I was hoping it was the heater hose but I don't think it is. By the way siphoning didn't go so well for me, there was still water in the IM and the heads up to the waterway "slots"after quite a decent siphon. Oh and coolant tastes pretty foul too.....I'm obviously not as good a sucker as somePaul - 3 projects, 1 breaker - garage built and housing 2 white Stags. One runs, one doesn't

Above and below pictures show what I have been doing to the Stag recently.Made some modifications to an old, little used Samsung Galaxy Tablet of mine, in order to use it in the Stag as a SatNav display (and also to play music I have stored on it). Decided against using a Tablet “car holder” I got as a present, as didn’t like where it was positioned, and instead placed the display in front of the heater controls as I never need access to them (they are permanently set to cold & fresh air).
The Tablet is held in place there with Velcro, so can easily be removed when leaving the car, but I may yet tidy it up a bit, and colour the front darker. The new twin USB cigar lighter plug feeds both the Tablet and the Dashcam, or alternatively a smartphone when placed in it’s holder at the bottom of the windscreen on the right, keeping them charged up whilst driving.

Used it as a general run around, been raining again so it’s filthy again. Just picked the eldest boy up,from school because he’s I’ll. Rather he’d be ill now because we are on holiday in a couple of weeks

It’s been off the road since before Xmas due to a slight HGF. Heads in good nick apart from corrosion in the usual gasket holes - all outside fire circle so filled with JB weld and levelled.
Valve stems a bit too loose to go back in so halved the play with new valves but left the bronze sleeved guides in place.
Car came with no history (deceased estate) so it was a good time to do chains. Curved guides replaced, rest of the timing system in good order.
Everything else checked and double checked, turned over without ignition lead until oil pressure came up then - the big moment! I believe it would have started first try if I hadn’t forgotten the choke! No point in doing more than a rough timing as replacement parts for the electronic ignition are somewhere in the post.
One very relieved owner is looking forward to being back on the road very soon and is very grateful to all those who contribute to the forum for their contributions.

Started to reassemble my minilites. They were looking very tired but are split rims which makes refirbing them easy. sent the centers off for powder coating whilst i polished my rims. Not to every ones taste i'm sure but i'm happy with the result.

Went to see work in progress on my Stag new paint work.
Pleased to discover that she was now painted in a beautiful BRG color.

Yesterday afternoon - Water pump O rings replaced, water pump back in. Inlet manifold back on - no leaks so far thanks to Tiger Seal. Petrol pipe to carbs replaced for new spec stuff, Stroms back on fired up, jubilee clip on bottom hose moved round a touch () timing set. Out for dinner last night so carbs today sometime, set up and colour tune. Then bleed back brakes and we should be back in business.
Oh then i need to tidy the garagePaul - 3 projects, 1 breaker - garage built and housing 2 white Stags. One runs, one doesn't

Sorry to here that Richard, (mole 42) appreciate you keeping us informed of your progress. The more you do the less places there is for the problem to hide and on the plus side you now have some good spares.
Always keen to follow electrical problem threads as this area is not my strongest point.
Look forward to you posting a problem solved message hopefully soon.
