Quit a bit!
New - plugs, leads, dizzie cap, rotor arm green, all engine breather pipes, converted to spin on oil filter, new filter and a fresh drop of VR1 Valvoline. All parts from LD. except oil.
Fired it up and no leaks, also fitted a new bottom fan guard.
Checked the O ring under the carb manifold and nipped it back up as it was ok, (had a look as the carb unit used to spin on its base a little)
Showered and tin of beer in hand, that's all folks.
Rebuilt and refitted the steering column after it had spat out the sliding column bushes and shims.
Then stickered her up ready for the RBRR starting on Friday. We are driving for Epilepsy Research UK, if you would like to donate to a good cause follow the link below.
Just been to refuel the Stag, post the Jersey trip and ready for the next outing. Overall mileage just short of 500 (479) and overall fuel consumption of 28.36 mpg for the whole trip. Not bad for an old tech 3 litre V8? MOD of course.
Fitted the hardtop, it was Michaelmas on Saturday last and time to wrap up warm for winter.
Broke the fuel filler cap and ordered a replacement used one from Robsport, hope it’s here tomorrow.
Checked the coolant level, 1,000 miles after I flushed the system.
Refitted the towball and electric socket
Refitted the Cibié Oscars
Next outing is to the local SOC group on Wednesday, then to Monmouth for the RBRR at midnight on Saturday.
She started and ran maybe a little retarded so need to timoher but she is running
and even moving
a long way to go but a giant leap forward
thanks to all that have helped with knowledge wisdom etc
hope to meet one day
Rich
Not today, but earlier in the week, met up with some other Stag mates for a supercar drive day at Brands Hatch. This started off as a present to Bob Heritage as a thank you for arranging the Brands Hatch meeting each year, but decided we couldn't let him do it on his own!

Good of you to show your appreciation and take him out for the day, I'm sure he enjoyed it. The friendship of some of the members is a real benefit to the club.
At just after midnight I set off to the Monmouth North control point on the CT Round Britain where I was marshalling from 02:14hrs - clocking in the crews, signing the logbooks, ticking them off our our entry list. It was good to see so many Stags out and running, sad that a couple had stopped on the way.
I closed the control at 04:30hrs after the last car through and drove home to bed. I was very glad of the Stag heater, it was perishingly cold outside but toasty in the cabin.
