The best drive this afternoon I've ever had coming home the 30 miles - powering out of roundabouts shows I need to turn the steering wheel quicker as the world is passing so fast now
Think the spirited driving is emptying the fuel tank faster too.

I felt your pain at the w/e. Also remember well after my mechanic (who meets Russ' definition of technician) tuned my carbs shortly after I got mine - made a good car brilliant. Definately getting more smiles per gallon
JonnoWhite 1976 build ("Mk2") only a few mods

Continuing the Yorkshire/NE reporting (see Neil and Jonno above): am doing a project in Filey currently so I use my Stag for the journey. Had a late meeting yesterday and a glorious run back along the A64 in fading light and late evening sun (not directly into it, luckily) with virtually no traffic, doing the 60 or so miles in not that much over an hour (or thereabouts, officer!). That V8 sounds soooo good in the cooler evening air and runs better too, or so it seems. Back in my motorcycling days I always thought the engines ran better at night. I wonder if there's any science behind that?

MOT due next week so i adjusted the front wheel bearings as they highlighted them last year as an advisory, oops
Also i have engine oil dripping below the oil pump when standing so checked the cam cover gasket and 1/2 moon and resealed and cleaned the area as best i could. Maybe now its cleaner i may be able to see where its coming from.
Whilst i was there I found a white with brown line wire which was not connected to anything between the bulkhead and off side head, it is live when the ignition switch is on. Does anyone know what this is for. Its not connected to anything by the way.
