I'm up to 1000kms 38 deg c roof down all the way Spanish/French border tomorrow Who said Stags overheat Le Mans here we come.
Hope you get there O.K. without any problems Graham. Just a question to satisfy my curiosity as you will soon be in France. Like me you have a "H" prefix on your number plate - but this doesn't show the Country code (E for Espagne). Have you had to add an "E" sticker in readiness for crossing the Border?

Didn't involve the Stag but we went to the Royal Albert Hall today. We saw Sir Karl Jenkins conduct the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Choral Society Choir who both performed the Armed Man. It was dedicated to battle of the Somme with readings and poetry from WW1 by Tony Robinson.
An Absolutely breathtaking experience ................

Nice to hear Jason, I shouldn't think there are many children now that take up playing a musical instrument. My Wife achieved grade 5 piano as a teenager but illness and it's affects on her hands and movement prevent her from playing now.

'Tis my job to repair the musical instruments, you're right, the education system isn't supporting school instrument tuition anymore except in some academies.
Most of my customers are older people.
Got underneath and did some general checks. Luckily spotted that the spring clip that holds the gear selector rod to the selector arm on the gearbox had come loose and wasn't secure. Drilled a small hole in the selector rod and fitted a split pin for extra security. The spring clip was a replacement I bought from a well known supplier (to replace the original one that went into hiding somewhere in my garage ) and obviously isn't as strong as the OE one on the other end of the selector arm.

We have to pay for him to have lessons at school, which he has in his lunch time. Appears kids don't do music lessons anymore!
Drove from Amiens to Our hotel for 3 nights after 2 days visiting WW1 cemeteries and my wife's Great Uncles grave on the 3rd July 2016, 100 years after he was killed on the 3rd July 1916.
Giverny and Versailles to visit before we set off down to Le Mans on Thursday.
Stag has been fine apart from a problem with the washer pump expiring, bit of fettling and its sorted.
While my wife's car is away at a Garage having some repairs, been using the Stag as our daily transport instead. Seems the new alternator is charging the battery fine, and the studs I put in the head to hold the power steering assembly are doing their job.
Today went to the Doctors to get the results of a blood test 10 days ago, as I have to have regular PSA readings to monitor my prostrate cancer. For the 1st time the readings are below 4.0 (3.97 in fact) which indicates everything is fine (better than ever in fact), so nothing needs to be done apart from having another blood test in 6 months time.
Might have a pint or two at Happy Hour tonight, all I need now is for my bodywork man to ring me up to tell me to bring my Stag in to have the bubbles in the drivers door seen to, and touched up to remove the stains left by lighted cigarette ends thrown off balconies by careless holidaymakers onto the car park below.
Drove a few miles after work to collect the new backing material for the fronts seats. Replace the cork gasket on the oil filler cap as this had developed a propensity to allow the out to escape when cruising. Found one rubber gasket on the rocker box also allowing a small quantity of oil to escape. Will replace tomorrow night. Will then tidy garage as we have the house for sale.
