Club Triumph's Round Britain Reliability Run.
We start this year at Knebworth House at 6pm Friday October 7th and end back there in the evening of Sunday 9th approximately 2000 miles and 48 hours later.
I completed it 2 years ago in the Stag and I'm having another go, with the same co-driver, this year in the 2000. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys driving - it was one of the best weekends I've had.

Fitted new Weber carb to replace Stroms.
I know that there are those who claim that Stroms are fine when kept maintained, but having replaced all parts and adjusted them in line with recommended procedures, I must admit to having lost confidence in their ability to retain tune and a consistent performance.
I'm a fan of SU carbs but I'm afraid that I regard Stroms as a knock off of SUs and given the technical difficulties in fitting Su carbs I have invested in the Weber.
After a 200 mile trip, the Weber has proved to provide smooth power delivery from hot and cold and also gives more under bonnet space for maintenance and general visibility of hoses.
I'll monitor fuel economy. I drive my Stag gently with the occasional blast to 5,000 rpm and on Stroms achieved around 24mpg.

Took it to a nearby Garage run by an Englishman and after a few attempts he found someone willing to weld a new piece on it. They did a really good job and the cost was just over €100. Have had no problems since and the cost is a lot less than ordering a new one and having it shipped out. Might be worth your while asking around to find someone your way who could do the same.

[QUOTE=jbuckl;359528]played 19 gallons worth of music[/QUOTE
How many 8tracks is that?
Drove from our campsite to La Rochelle and back. Nice town La Rochelle, busy though!

Hi Richard,
I think you are mixing it all up
For the record it was approximately 500 English & Welsh miles, afaiaa my stag has never been to France, and there is a reason for that. (nothing to do with mike oldfield)
Mostly the music was 'forth order combustion' hence approx 19 gallons of it
However, after the loose speaker wire was re-attached, we did listen to a few Kacey Musgraves tracks
for example.
P.S. Wishing the woman all the best who came off her motorcycle on the A5 & needed the air ambulance

Back from Belgium, Aalter
Last week, i went to Aalter in Belgium to bring back to my home the Stag in bought on March. Most of my return travel of about 800 kms was under the rain and i had to change a wheel under the rain, english way. However, i really enjoyed this first journey in a Stag, she is running fine with that V8 rumble.
During this travel back to home, my fuel consommation was about 12 l/100, that is 23 mpg.Attached Files

Drove back from Annecy in the French alps, set off at 6.15 this morning and arrived back at 7.00pm this evening, a distance of roughly 780 miles done pretty well non stop apart from 3 short fuel/comfort breaks and an hour on the Chunnel.
1830 miles done in the last 10 days with only snag being the wipers refusing to switch off quickly in the hot French rain.
It did the same last year, but English rain is cold enough for it not to happen in this country!

Lunch with my mother to present her my Stag !
She is 88 years old and drives the same car, a 1984 Mini, for 30 years. Noticed that my wooden steering wheel was like her Mini's. When she was younger, has had an Austin A35 and also an Austin A40 Farina. So, used to those old english things !
