Purchased a new battery and fitted that ( didn't realise what a pain that was going to be ), pumped up the tyres and checked all the liquids. It started on the 4th turn and ran lovely. All I have to do now is get it booked in for the MOT and it should all be ready for Winter !!

I decided to give my stag some much needed attention. Its sat in the garage for well over a year near and not moved, MOT has run out, battery is dead and two flat tyres !

Went to Blackpool Vehicle Preservation Group Car Show at Fairhaven Lake as one of ten stags out from North Lancs Area SOC
There were about another 10 Stags there independently plus a couple of hundred or so not-stags
A few clouds, quite blustery but mainly sunny
Fantastic Day out - some oldies, some Yanks , some Super-Cars - Great Mix

Revival; I wrote Revival, not FOS, but it came out as FOS on here because I was all tired, and emotional, and wet, and cold, and, well;
That bl**dy nurse has it in for me again. Just 'cause I was having fun: In the pouring rain: And I told her I'd had a pint with Mr. Bean, and I said, to him, 'it looked a bit soapy out there' and he said that "half the time he had no idea where he was" and I said 'most of the time I had that feeling' and he looked at me in a way that said he didn't seem altogether surprised by this....., and, anyway, I wrote Revival but it came out all different and.... ,
Anyway; there were all sorts of really noisy old crocks there and a load of old cars, too.
Did I mention it was wet?
Mr Bean thought the beer was watery. I just thought it was expensive but I did recognise that we were, probably, having to pay a lot for the plastic pot it came in. He was wet, too.
Anyway, I know I meant Revival and not FOS which is why I wrote it. Maybe someone tampered with it after I'd gone to bed. That happens a lot with some things.... .
Did I mention it was raining? A lot... .

Revival was interesting this year, soaked through Saturday and shivering, flaming hot yesterday - don't you love the British weather?
Great racing both days, not sure I have the 'hairy bits' to drive an open car with no seatbelts at 100mph in wet, or ride a 1930s motorbike at speed with minimal run off in some areas - there were one or two prangs where damage repair will be into £6 figures (pocket money to these people though).
Great to get back to Stag on Saturday evening after a whole day of torrential rain and find the new hood has made the interior watertight! And car performed faultlessly during its 570 miles since Thursday evening average mpg 28.7...............
And excellent Triumph convoy on M40 Northbound at 8pm last night from J9 to J12 (my exit!):
French blue Dolomite Sprint;
Bright red Tr5;
Me in the stag;
Recovery vehicle with Blue TR6 on it (!!!)
All cruising along somewhere near the legal limit - couldn't possibly say which side though!
So, if you ignore the overmoneyed pillocks with the loud voices and children with bl**dy stupid names (some people are so cruel!!) - I thoroughly recommend the Revival. We took a picnic both days (splashed out at Waitrose £30 for three of us in total - loads left) it doesn't cost the earth - decent Coffees cheaper than Costa as well on site.

Malcolm and I went on Friday (He's the one in the flat cap eyeing up the Cobra)damp start but it cleared up and stayed dry even though threatening rain all day. Mainly qualifying and practice for Saturday and Sunday but some good action nevertheless. And a good opportunity to look around all the other attractions. Spotted a couple of good looking Stags in the over 40's car park. Attaching a few images.
Main race was the Kinrara Trophy which kicked off at 6.45 and lasted an hour well into dusk so really atmospheric. Hopefully they will show it on tonight's highlights at 9.00pm on ITV4 as it was an eventful and exciting race.
Unfortunately too late to book the historics car park so in with all the moderns had some doubts I'd find it in the dark but needn't have worried - looking good in the twighlight and great run home after a brilliant day.P1080718a.jpgP1080733a.jpgP1080752a.jpgP1080767a.jpgP1080870a.jpgLast edited by GRD; 12 September 2016, 17:46.

Went to the GRon Friday. Great day but went in the wrong car. My guest wanted to drive his P4 which unfortunately was suffering from a blocked vent pipe. Should have taken the green dragon.
The paddocks is the second best bit. The classic car park is the main show for me. Lots of Stags, Jags, Aston Martins and Rollers as well as the rarer and more unusual such as a DKW two stroke. Not the most valuable but certainly interesting.
Now on holiday away from my toy. Let's hope the dry weather lasts well into October.
