SO what did you you do with your Stag today?

I considered stripping my master cylinder and fitting new seals, having done the same on my previous Stag about 25 years ago. I have ordered a new one after discussing the matter with a renowned Stag specialist. I also spoke to my local parts factor who told me that are no longer allowed to sell seal kits for any hydraulic cylinders due to liability issues. The Stag is grounded until the new cylinder arrives on Monday.....

I fitted a new Master Cylinder brakes in 15mins, whole lot better than changing seals, unfortunately noe in the bin!

Fitted Yellowstuff pads. Stops better now.
Fixed the steering column top bearing by nipping up the star washer that secures it.
Looked for the electronic flashers I bought and couldn't find them.
Drove home top down. (car's not mine)

Fitted a Stagwebber indicator buzzer after gaffering a thick piece of foam over the speaker first. My first post today, but I thank all those folk who have previously posted answers to queries. Helping me to sort leak from carbs and tank and find the flasher unit above the steering column.
Bought my 74 white mk2 back in July a good runner and mainly rust free, but in need of much tlc. Check out my blog stellastag.blogspot.co.uk
I will post some photos as I became more confident in how this forum works

Found some rust at the bottom of the front valance. Scraped away the waxoyl and applied liberal qualities of genolite to affected areas. Tomorrow will apply a further coat, then apply a sealing paint, top paint then spray on more waxoyl.
Then with number 2 son will lower soft top and install the hard top. Shame really but the plan is to drive during the winter on those few days when dry.

Well spoke to soon had a bit of playing around to get the floor pan to fit,still not fitted as i found the front chassis leg rusty,still its easier to repair with the floor pan out the way

Worked fine on the Stag and Grey Lady. The rust was rubbed down then applied the jenolite (jelly form). Rust turned to a beautiful dark blue. Then primed and waxoyled- works wonders every time. Still plenty of jenolite left!

Give it time, the rust will come back! There is only one way of getting g rid of rust.

Changed the oil...yes, all by myself including getting the pesky man-tight filter off
