SO what did you you do with your Stag today?

Had a run to the main Post Office, as the Stag is currently taxed to end March, I thought I would register it for historic and put some free rent on it. No was the reply, you can't register for historic until 1st April

Thats not what the DVLA told me. I was told that providing you are renewing tax from the day it runs out, i.e. no gaps you can renew from the 5th of final month.

Do you both think it's only worth fitting these pads along with the BMW servo, or is it worth it on their own with standard set up?

hi Jeff ,im guessing they will have similar effects on a standard set up . ive got std servo cant see me getting much benefit from the bmw one but ive got willwood 4pots with vented discs it stops on a tanner then a little putty knife comes out of the dash and scrapes you from the inside of the screen !! really pleased it is like any good modern or better than some with this set up .

Still some on e bay but by the time you have bought a new master cylinder which the Monarch kit has, the price gap between Monarch kit and DIY is not so great.

New to this, so here goes. Refurbished my water pump last week, first timer. I took it out because I thought it was leaking from the brass cage. Replaced parts with the rimmer brothers kit and put every thing back together. Started it up today to here " the knocking noise", follow guide lines explicitly. Have read many threads on here on the subject. How can it be only leaking one minute to only knocking the next? Any more ideas, be gentle remember I am new to this lol

Did you guage the packing gaskets properly. Not too tight are they?

I had a 20 thow gap so put the two thickest gaskets in. I thought I had pushed it in too far, but you can't, can you?

Thats exactly as I understood it also. But my experience was that the post office counter clerks are not aware of the correct procedure. After 2 attempts I phoned DVLA who said if I had a third refusal to get the counter clerk/ postmaster to ring them. Fortunately the third counter clerk knew exactly what to do. He took V5C from me and gave a receipt. He sent it off to DVLA but issued a zero rate tax disc.
