Sods Law - my new mobile phone started playing up and the sim card has now blocked itself.
I do have the "PUK" code it is asking for somewhere, but meanwhile went to play snooker in the Stag this morning without a phone on me.
I think my Stag new this as it decided to cut out half way there and wouldn't restart (fired but only ran for about a second).
Abandoned the Stag in a parking bay and went to play snooker as my apponent was waiting there for me and I couldn't ring him to say I needed to fix the car first and might be late ( I was about 1/2 mile away).
I usually give my Saturday apponent a lift home when we are finished, but told him to get a Taxi whilst went back to the Stag to try and sort out what was wrong. At first I thought it was the Fuel pump as I couldn't hear it ticking when turning the key, and giving it a good tap made no difference. I was sure it was a fuel problem and not electrical so I removed the fuel pipe between front filter & carbs, and on turning the key saw that no fuel was being pumped.
I recently removed the fuel cut-off switch, and haven't got round to acquiring a replacement yet, so I checked the wiring where I had temporarily by-passed it, and lo and behold the car started pumping fuel as soon as I touched it - so it was a bad connection. Made a quick temorary repair and got the car home, and have just since done a much better job of the by-pass wiring, and she's running fine again.
I had no joy with Paddocks when enquiring about a new cut-off switch last time, but I vaguely remember someone saying Jaguar do one that would work on the Stag? Can someone tell me where I might get one please, whilst I try and get my phone working again?Last edited by Tdm; 11 February 2017, 15:42.

Thanks to Glenn & Nigel who gave me links to the garage supplying Inertia Cut-Off switches - have book marked it, but decided first to take Andrew Smith's advice and had a go at cleaning up my existing very rusty one, which I have just done.
Not come up too badly and have just re-assembled it and will put it back in the Stag shortly and test that it is working.
I have a couple of other jobs earmarked to do on the car soon; one is to tighten the handbrake cable as the handbrake is no longer holding the car on a hill as it should, and another is to see why my extra Airhorns (which were a present some years back) have stopped working; probably another bad/poor wiring connection. Then when I take the Stag out on a good run again, I will see if the "muffler" I put over the microphone in the rear bumper improves the recording sound by removing excess wind noise.

I drove mine, yay. Sun out, roof down. Saw a yellow Stag with hard top fitted coming the other way about 2 miles from where I live. Any one on here?

It's getting warm here at present, hit 40 degrees yesterday, and it's 32 degrees in the shade at present, so took the Stag for a drive as it likes going out in the Sun, and as usual, the temperature gauge never budged from it's normal warmed up position. Going to have to think about taking the hardtop off soon, providing I can find somewhere to store it.

Yep, Mabel's going topless at Easter!!
Today I did the five niggly little MOT fail items: bolt missing from the towbar, rear fog lamp on the wrong side, N/S brake light out, slight leak from N/S/F brake hose, movement in the N/S bottom ball joint.
N/S bottom ball joint was weird - I had the MOT garage fit two new ones last year because they failed, when I got the N/S one off this year I found that the whole ball joint assembly was rotating in the track control arm. Never seen that before. Shimmed it up for now but I'll be ordering a new TCA today!Last edited by mole42; 11 March 2017, 18:16.Richard
