Took ours for a test drive to prove the new prop and then a 60 mile on the Scatter Rally. Great to be driving around in the sunshine with the roof down
Decided to remind myself why I bought a Stag and to forget all about the aggravation on the forum. Drove out to our favorite restaurant in the depths of the French countryside, a wonderful lunch and a great drive there and back along deserted country roads in brilliant sunshine. Puts everything into perspective.
Today I fitted new brake discs, calipers, pads and Goodrich hoses to the front, and fitted new seals and Goodrich hoses to the rear. Drove the car home but I'll need to bleed the brakes again.
Another job off the list, and the RBRR is getting closer!
Oh, and I emptied another tin of Dynax S50 into the front crossmembers and sills.
Rebuilt diff from Fitchetts fitted, had an issue with rear hub bearings play but got round that problem by fitting some spare shafts with hubs.
Short road test yesterday, so today, top down and started with blast down the M60 to Stockport, up to Marple Bridge and then to Hayfield in the Peak District. Back home via Stalybridge a great 65 mile test drive with no problems.IMG_2714.jpg
Now then, WHATS NEXT ???
Were you in the White stag I waved too? I was in the topaz one, we were going as you were leaving obviously. I met one of you local stag owners at the bowling green pub car event, Mark in a blue stag.
Tony
Hi Tony yes it was me ! I was miles away when you tooted I passed the Bowling green pub,was there an event there as well today ? Your stag looked very very nice
I bet Mark had his top down ? I've never seen it up !
After checking that my repaired petrol tank is now not leaking I put all the boot fittings back together, and refilled it with all the spares I normally carry. Not as many as before though, leaving room to put some shopping in at least such as a pallet of beer.
Still no news on a new alternator though, so the car is stuck in the car park and the weather is glorious at the moment and it needs to go for a run.
