That reminds me of my 1st ever trip abroad, on my own, to the Costa Brava in a Blue Cars Coach.
Forgot to pick up my Passport at the Hotel when we left Tossa De Mar, and when we got to Girona to board the
Blue Cars Coach home - I had to jump in a Taxi to take me back to Tossa for my Passport, but I had no Pesetas left
but did have a £2 Travellers Cheque which the Hotel changed into Pesetas to pay the Taxi Driver, and I think (but could be wrong)
you got well over 100 Pesetas to the £, I know it was enough to pay for the Taxi ride. That was in the 60s.
Wouldn't it be nice if you got a different coloured SOC windscreen badge for having been a member for so many years, or maybe just an extra badge - like an old AA badge to fasten to the grill.
If you like going on Cruises (like I do), you get different coloured cards each time you go that give you extra benefits and discounts - now wouldn't it be nice if the SOC did that.

Like a long service medal, or a Stag Owners bravery medal ( for actually owning one of course) What sort of benefits do you have in mind ?
Having thought on it (and decided not to blow myself up), I think the SOC could award Stag owners who have been members and kept their cars running for more than 10 years - a cerificate of perseverance and make them lifetime members with free membership thereafter. Something along the following lines, what do you think? :-

I think you have too much time on your hands Terry

More than normal yes, because I am not able to move about as much as usual because of whatever I have got that I picked up in the U.K. Think I will have to make an appointment to see the Doctor. Did start drilling the hole in the second rear over rider though this morning to take another reversing sensor having successfully got the 1st one working. Also made an attempt to repair the front passenger seat in the Stag which has started to come apart. By the way producing that "certificate" took about half an hour thats all.
33 years for me since I bought my first Stag, but sadly not still in my 40's !!!
Sorry we weren't able to meet up in Bournemouth - 33 years is a long time, and I thought I had had mine for a long time at 22 years.
Age is relative - it's how you feel that matters.
