The Mk4 had the "Stag" rear end and overdrive button in the gear lever, and was an improvement on the Mk3, but it still only had a 1300cc engine, so I fitted a performance enhancement kit from BL Special Tuning that made it go a bit quicker. I was running the MK4 when I got married in 1974, and until it was hit in 1976, my wife and I went all over the Country in it, including your part of the woods David, touring round Devon and Cornwall one Easter.
