    Tank measurements for MJH

    Mike

Hight from base of tank to sender hole is 185mm so pump unit would need to be packed up 10mm which would help the diameter as it come up the tapper.110mm diameter between the 2 lines i have drawn.

    Cheers Steve

    Thanks for that

For those confused I am trying to establish whether one of these might fit:

    http://www.webcon.co.uk/Downloads/WFP096-1.pdf

A combined EFI pump, level sensor, and swirl pot all in one.

A nice solution for those with Rover EFI engines and EFI Stag engines.

Looks like the original tank could be modified to make one of these fit

The data sheet in the link gives the pump info, looks like 50Psi & 75Lt/min.

        Price £117.50+VAT

Just gave them a ring for more info, which is interesting.

The dimension 195mm for the depth is the max, the two sprung supports compress so the minimum will be less than this, they could not say how much though. (so stag tank being 185mm looks okay)

The idea being that when you insert the unit into your tank the bottom touches the tank bottom and the unit compresses slightly on the springs as you secure the top.

The top is secured just like the stag original level sensor...but a larger version.

A few choice questions about the flange size etc & I haveestablished that the unit is actually a VW Audi group component, re-packaged by Webcon. No surprise really.

So find a scrapped VW Audi with a fuel tank pump mounting flange the correct size as the data sheet, chop off the top, weld into the top of the Stag tank inplace of the level sensor and the jobs done! You may be lucky and also find the same second hand pump assembly that Webcon are selling!

Other info, the pump draws the fuel into the swirl pot from the underneath, therefore the bottom is not quite flat. The two connections are flow and return, 8mm diameter.

This really does look the answer. Simple flow and return to/from the fuel rail. One pump, simple wiring. We maybe lucky and the resistance values for the fuel gauge might even be right!

        Cheers,

        Mike

Fantastic detailed reply Mike! I like the research aboutthe VW/Audi pump.

I'm going to have to use something like this to fuel the supercharger project.

          Many thanksssssssssssssss
