I am thinking of trying 205/65x15 tyres on my Minilite wheels, anyone know if they will fit or foul the body etc please? Found some info in 14" but none on 15"...
Depends what rolling circumference you are trying to mimic :- 185x80x 14 = +or- is 205x65x15 185x70x14 = +or- 205x60x15 I would have that the lower profile would be less likely to foul anything.
I have 205/65/15's fitted. Rolling diameter is very close as a speedo check with statnav is about 1% out. My rims are 15 x7's with 30 mm offset. 15mm adapter spacers on the fronts to reduce effective offset to 15mm. No rubbing! Craig
My 1st Stag had 195/65x15 on 5.5 inch minilites and they caught the front arches when the wheel was turned for parking, they currently live on my Estate where they don't touch.
My latest Stag has slightly cut back arch lips and 195/65 x15 are ok on 6 inch minilites.
I don't like the handling on the 5.5 inch rims, too much slop in the sidewalls makes it twitchy when driving quickly, which is why I prefer the 6 inch rims.

Thanks everyone for the advice and comments. Sounds like 205s may be OK... I currently have 195/65 which are fine and was only thinking of 205s as the car is an auto and they are closer to the original 185 x 14 I believe. I thought it may bring the revs down a little. Hmmm...!
there 15 x 7 the only other marking on them is 8,don't really know how to measure offset
dave
Hi Dave,
The offset will be stamped on the rim, normally on the inner side. For your wheels it may well be 8 if they are reported to rub. If they do have an offset of 8 then I would expect that they would look like "deep dished" style and with the wheel being closer to the guard rather than the suspension strut or rear shock. Most likely would rub on the rear guard. Craig
I used to have 205's on 14 " rims 6" wide (which are the wheels I have now with 195/70) and they were ok but on 5.5" rims looked a bit like tractor tyres - on 15" rims you have a bit less side wall to balloon so to speak so probably ok, I've seen others on here say they have that size without a problem..
60 profile is 1 kmh under speed at 60 kmh whereas 65 profile is 1 kmh over speed at 60 kmh. So from a speedo point of view it is much the same error, one above and the other below. 65 profile will give a slightly more forgiving ride than the 60 profile and I have noticed a more harsh ride with 65 profile compared to my previous 70 profiles. Don't know the experience with 60 profiles from other members but I suspect it may result in feeling every bump in the road! Craig
