    Milometer Stuck

    Hello Forum
Set off on a run out in the sunshine last weekend and rest the trip meter. It was a bit of a fiddle as usual but eventually got it to zero. After a couple of miles I noticed that neither the trip meter or milometer had moved! Is there a fix for this or will it be call to the Gauge Shop?
    Your advice would be appreciated.

    PS car is a Mk2

    Hi
Could be it's just stuck.I would try ...carefully ....driving and keep pressing the reset button.
It may start working..this happened to my old mk2 golf a little while back.
    Good luck
    Len

If both have stopped, pressing the trip reset will do nothing. Sounds like the nylon gear has gone, and it's a pro fix. Best send it to Alan

        "pressing the reset button"?

My Stag doesn't have one of those. Was it a 'optional extra'?

"phase 3" or 76 and 77 Stags have a trip reset button in the speedo dial instead of a twirly thingy - mine does

I thought the outcome might not be good but thanks for the advice. Think the speedo has been changed before as the bezel is tatty whereas all the others are perfect. Think Alan is going to have a rush on ad I see I am not the only one with this problem!

Well I for one can recommend Alan's work had my Gauges done and a trader commented on how stable and steady the Gauge is.

              Cheers Glenn

I can lend a mk2 speedo to one of you while it's being fixed...

Thanks for the offer Kryten but I can probably hang on while it is repaired.

He repaired an XK120 speedo, and converted a 1959 Alfa Romeo rev counter from cable to electronic for me last week - pukka job on both
