    Door Mirrors

Has anyone found some door mirrors that work.

I have bullet type on mine look good & visibility passable on a nice summers day with the roof down, But on a dark wet wintersevening I cant see a thing.

Has anyone come across some mirrors that look good & work,

Just to say I have never had the original stile as they were both snapped off when I brought the car.

I have mirrors mounted on the wings which are really good in the day but night time useless!

I think Monstag has some electric mirrors from a Jaguar which looked like the worked pretty much like a modern cars would?

The problem with mirrors is that to replace them and put the new one's in the right place means welding and a respray or new door skins at the worst!

I have electric mirrors on my Stag which are excellent, there are a couple of toggles beneath the dashboard which move them in steps, not the smooth action of modern mirrors, but very handy nontheless. I'm told they were a BL option in the late 70's and similar to those fitted to XJ's of the time.

        Hi

I have the original style Tex Mirrors purchased from Rimmers, they were not brilliant as you could not adjust them as the lock nut had to be done up tightly to stop them flopping, but I then discovered a great mod available from LD Part that allows the mirror to be adjusted easily

http://www.ldparts.co.uk/shop/shop.p...79ad260845639, curiously this part is made by Tex so they were obviously aware of the problem, I wonder why they did not supply them already fitted to the mirrors?:?

        hope this helps

Are the ovals or square mirrors the correct type as Tex sell both ?

I need a couple of new mirrors also and like both styles really.

Ovals for early Stags, square for later. However, having tried both, I would go for the square ones. Only a true pedant would notice .

Just fitted the door mirrors from LD parts makes it a lotbetter to drive the only problem now is I thought I had finished the bodywork.

Time to fill holes & repaint the doors again.
