    Steering dead spot

As I've said on other posts, I'm new to Stags and only had mine for a few months, but have a question regarding the power steering.

With the engine off, there is no play in the steering linkage at all, however, when driving along a straight road there seems to be a couple of inches play on the steering. As in at the steering wheel circumference. Seems like a dead spot, but it means that the car wanders somewhat.

I've only ever driven one other Stag but can't say I remember if that was the same or not, mine has passed a recent MOT like this as well.

Does anyone know if there is any adjustment or am I looking at a new rack or is it just a quirk of the cars steering system.

Mine had this, I think it's a fault in the spool valve on the rack, however I replaced the rack in mine and cured that problem straight away.
