15" TRIUMPH STAG OTHER TRIUMPH > ORIGINAL BRITISH 3spoke WOOD steering wheel
A couple of years ago I saw an original TR5 wheel fetch £600 odd in an eBay auction. I still wonder what it would have fetched if it had been listed as a Spitfire wheel instead! I suppose it was still in its 1968 packaging.
I suppose an image of high quality, rare and restored items may be enough to convince someone with more money than sense to jump in and buy one of them, and the seller does not expect to sell them all.
It may be encouraging to see things like this valued more highly as that could reflect on the Stag, but for me, money spoils everything. I don't want to be scared to drive it. When a car gets to that point it becomes more of a sculpture, a work of Art for display or locking away. It has a point and it's place, but it's no longer a Car.
Regards
Steve
