It's booked at an hour and twenty minutes Andrew - and that is supposed to include driving it in.
In my experience, with the correct tools and a cold engine it's not an unreasonable time - do remove the bracket from the block as the studs on the mount rubber are not really accessible so don't waste your time thinking it will save agg by trying to leave it in place - if you did manage to get the nuts off, getting enough clearance to disengage the mount rubber from the bracket seldom happens
Well with doing all my chores Saturday I treated today as my rest day in they sun and then after a few hours, got bored and then tackled the engine mount job as it was cooler in my garage. Well, what an experience. The new engine mount studs were slightly at an angle and so didn't just drop into the holes of the engine bracket. Took bracket off block with mount but then had to separate the bracket and mount in place as I couldn't get the unit out. The threads on the mounts were lets say, I should have cleaned the threads so were tight. I ended up taking the exhaust manifold off but it wouldn't separate from the down pipe so became a compromise. Anyway ones sore write rubbing against the manifold and 3 hours later, all done. The old one had a complete crack in the rubber from one side to the other. If this one goes again, then I will sue India for items not fit for purpose
Thanks for your advice Russ about putting a jack under the side I was working on as this gave me much more room when jacked up slightly
Having looked at the old mount, I can see how bad it was and the crack has closed up as its not under pressure. I can also see why I had a job fitting the new mount in place as they cant even get the stud alignment correct with the studs going off to one side. Anyway, all done
