    Dizzy cap stuck on!

    Hi All

I went to remove the dizzy cap off our Stag this evening and discovered that it is jammed on. I have tried gently tapping it with the wooden handle of a hammer but no joy.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any suggestions on how to remove it in one piece?

    Thanks

              Bruce,

Warm it up before trying to remove it, either use a heat gun or run the engine for a while. When it's warm try gently tapping it all the way round. If that fails try getting a flat bladed screwdriver/chisel around the base and lever it up. If there is enough lip to grip on try a small pry bar to lever it up.

Buy a new Dizzy without one fitted, then swap?

                    Hi Roger

I used the car this morning to get the engine hot and then tackled the cap with a piece of wood. It popped off. Right, now on with fitting a new vac advance unit.

                    Cheers
