I've only gone and done it!

Hello, I'm a new member and I am over the moon to say I am now the proud owner of my dream car, a 1971 Mk1 Stag. I picked her up on Saturday and drove her back to warwickshire, just shy of a 200 miles journey....without so much as cough or a splutter.

I've been reading various post most of the day and have found some fantastic information, so many thanks to you all.

I popped a pic on twitter can't quite manage to get one up here, but here she is on this link https://twitter.com/theteamaster

Looking forward to conversing over the coming years and perhaps meeting some at a Stag Doo!

    Cheers
    Ross

That looks nice, love them in white, almost as nice as yellow!
Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.

Fabulous feeling isn't it? I also had a long drive home from the place we bought it. Looks a great car (at least better than yellow IMHO!) ... but that registration must be worth something also?

              Welcome

Hi Guys, thanks for all the comments, Simon - hope to see you about this summer, cheers for the offer of help....I'm sure the time will come!!

H - brilliant feeling, OH YES

MandM - indeed it was from lowestoft, the chap i got it from had it at a show a couple of weeks back, I assume it must have been there, he said he'd driven it 50m each way, so sounds about right. How funny - a small stag shaped world

Again, thanks to you all.....roll on summer!
                    Cheers

I'll work the photo thing out I'm sure

It was a toss up between a unloved yellow 'project' or this one, not knowing anything (Yet) about engines I'm afraid the white won

Lambrettlad - I'll be the one in the stag wearing my fishtail!!

                      Well done Rossco,

Well remember when I first got mine and I'm sure you'll get loads of smiles per mile. Nice car, nice colour and a terrific soundtrack.
