I must be blind!

I've just been reading a 1971road test about of triumph stag, there's a paragraph about the "commendable 2-axis adjustable steering column"

I haven't specificallylooked for any steering column adjustment in the past, and i have had my head down in the footwell when tracing an indicator problem a few times, yet i have never seen any adjustment catches!!!

I'll have to have a look next time i go down to the garage! I wonder what else i have missed over the last 18 months!

Maybe there is a 4th gear in the autobox, central locking and electric seats if i look a bit harder? I can but hope!!

Anyone else takena while to find unknown bits in their car?

I think that Tim also has the stealth column adjustment.

Hi Claral,

The adjustment lever is down here (See Pic). When I got mine, it was tucked in behind the plastic cover that goes around the column and I couldn't see it. All Stags should have them.

Great stuff, thanks for the pointer. Mine must be tucked away under the cover, i have not seen a lever like that.

It adjusts for reach as well as for height - after releasing the lever just try pushing & pulling it till you get the position you want , then lock it there.
