Non opening door

Hi, new to the forum and looking for some help with a problem on my Stag.

Basically the passenger door won't open !

I think that the internal mechanism has some how locked.

Both external and internal door handles operate.

However, externally the door key won't unlock, and internally the, the internal lock handle, won't unlock it either.

Unfortunately, with the door locked, I can't remove the door trim to sort out the problem inside the door.

Does anyone have any experience of this, or is there a clever way of removing the trim panel and gaining access to the inside of the door.

Any help would be much appreciated.

You should be able to get the panel off, it will be difficult though. If it's anything like mine there are some screws at the bottom of the panel, take the chrome bezel off from the inner handle, then there is a screw under the rear of the inner door handle, hopefully then you may be able to pull the card from the bottom to release the clips, then lift up?
Like I say, it'll be a struggle, but it is a Stag after all!

I have also had the door trimcard off to replace the doorskin seal, as said remove any screws and then use wide bladed device to lever out the push through retainers. I used a wide flat woodchisel with care. Also if not obvious top of doorcard fits under and is thus retained by trimstrip under window. If you have any problems getting old clips to re-fix I can thoroughly endorse using VW camper clips as recommended on this forum with the Stag plastic clip recepticle removed. Please search or google.
