    New Owner

    Hi Guys,

I just bought a Red/Burgundy (not sure of offical colour name :-))automatic Stag last night, will be picking it up in the next couple of weeks. The forum and owners club has been an invaluable source of Information so far and I am really looking forward to being part of the community. The car itself is in good/fair condition body wise, drives ok but hasn't had much mechanical work/servicing done in the last 10 years so thats job one. If anyone has any advice I am happy to accept it

    cheers

    John

Thanks guys, I am really looking forward to it, I have a vision in my mind as to what the finished article will look like....only fly in the ointment is that my wife and I bought a church to restore so it may take longer than I would like...if I focus on the car and not the church I am pretty sure she will actually kill me :-)

So the plan is to do enough to enjoy it for the summer, put into storage for the winter and then hopefully the other Project will be finished by summer next year.....then its all about the Stag :-)

          Welcome, John.
Don't drink Guinness if you can see through it... . That's my advice.
Oh, and add this site to your spreadsheet of useless information; http://www.stagbytriumph.co.uk/

Welcome. Oh well if she kills you at least living in an old church she can bury you in the garden.

Guinness you can see through is an empty glass - simply remedied

Real Guinness can only be sampled and enjoyed in a proper Dublin Bar.
Nothing anywhere else in the World with a Guinness label on it tastes quite the same.
It made making the trip from our former North Wales home across to Dublin on the Ferry from Holyhead worthwhile.

Welcome to the Forum by the way.

I agree. A thousand years ago I took a tour of the Guinness plant in Malaysia (I was working, guv, honest.) I've no idea what it was they were making but - Guinness it weren't.

Now, Dublin on the other hand.

I reckon John has it sussed.

You, Sir, are a pessar..., pissimus...., bloke what lacks optimism. Empty glass indeed. The very idea of such a thing is anathema to us happy folk.

Nurse? Bring me my bow of burning gold, nurse; such that I can set fire to the doctor's effigy again. I liked doing that last time.

Stop looking at me like that, nurse. You're making me nervous...... .
