Zf gearbox

when fitting a zf gearbox,i know there's three boxes that can be use BMW,JAG and Range Rover,if i used a BMW box do i need to fit a BMW torque convertor,i know its a stupid question but just checking

Dave it all depends on the as out of splines. Most of them are interchangeable . The main difference is there a three sizes small medium and large the small and medium fit the stag bell housing the large will not I have one of each size lol the small came out of a 3/5 series bow the medium came out of a 7 series and the large came from a jag.
i ran the small one to begin with now on the medium I prefer the medium myself seems to be smoother on change. Have a look at Ashcroft transmissions web site some good info on it.
