Hi everyone ,
This is the list of what is being done to my stag ,
New outer sill being replaced as the front outrigger was badly corroded which is also being replaced , also jacking point to the rear as the people who did the previous repairs , Prior to my ownership had cut it off, also replacing front lower wing as this was also a bodge , also the front and rear splash guards as what the previous people did was rather than when replacing the outer sill cut the splash guards outand replace they just left them loose and fabricated badly small bits to replace causing the corrosion to spread to the front floor pan lucky this has been caught as this can be patched . Also the lower rear panel under the bumper is being replaced .
This is the drivers side , the near side looks not that bad , front outrigger , front floor pan and lower front wing repair as the lower has blown out from corrosion.
I have also painted the boot space , resprayed the spare wheel, cleaned the rubber strap that holds the wheels in and resprayed the fuel tank , Also bought the correct hose kit with new fuel filter and grommets as when removing the fuel tank the vent pipes where bits of garden hose and the electric aerial they fitted they left the live wires to drape on top of the fuel tank with exposed wires to the inline fuse .
Glad i decided to get all this done as the stag drives amazing with the engine being sorted when i first bought the car nearly three years ago.
I have tried to release the hood latch to release the rear of the soft top and it does not want to release ..... any ideas . i want to take the rear seat back out which i think is bolted to the rear
regards paul
