The Triumph Repair Times are 1.80 hours for remove and replace rack and 1.10 hours for remove and replace starter (RHD non-AC)
I would imagine a non-Stag specialist mechanic would take a bit longer due to lack of familiarity.Dave

Also make sure they are aware of getting the steering column reconnected in the correct position so the indicator cancelling works properly. I've seen in the past it just refitted to the rack and the steering wheel re positioned on its splines afterwards. If you look in the ROM there is also a method for centering a new rack before it's fitted and connected.

Stag back today with a clean new shiny MOT, new hi-torque starter motor, new battery and new steering rack. Starts so quickly now, very different. The new steering rack is much tighter or stiffer than the old one. I did used to think that previously the steering was very light. Anyone else had the same results?
4 hours of labour charged so that was fair with the amount of worked done.
Happy days.
