    Oil degreaser

    Hi All

Split some silicone brake fluid on my block paving and used Halfrauds Gunk and still looks the same even with a good scrubbing. I also split some oil last year and used it and still remains as a stain. Nowhere near as good as it was probably in the name of saving the planet.

I used to use Jizer and see that there is a spray can from Halfrauds and wondered if its worth having another go

I do have a great jet wash so can give it a good blasting after using a degreaser, its just a question of which one

Can anyone recommend a good driveway degreaser. I've tried pepsi cola

    Cheers

Simple way is to take up the defective blocks and replace them. Quicker and cheaper in the long run.

Washing up liquid scrubbed in shifts a lot of it when I have had a similar problem the jet wash
        Smells nicer too

That whitener-powder-stuff that goes in washing machines seems to shift most things - but you do have to leave it to soak into the damp surface for a couple of hours.

Not recommended if you have cats or similar free roving animals.

I am a washing up liquid fan too. I just put it on neat and scrub it in. Then wait for it to rain. Sometimes takes a few applications but generally works. Never tried it on silicon brake fluid.

You could always treat the whole drive with brake fluid so it matches. 😉

                      Andrew,
I have used washing up liquid neat over the whole stain, shake salt all over the liquid, scrub like mad , leave overnight and jetwash the following day (careful if you have block pavers that you dont remove the sand between them with a too powerful jet), good luck, dependent on stain, may take a couple of goes....

                      Cheers

On a similar problem, which I have not tried this my self but a friend assures me it works very well, is cat litter to soak up engine oil when you kick over your drain pan when you've just drained your sump, just don't let the wife or the cat see you.
