    Hood well stowage AKA Tardis!!!

On Monday this week I took a 5-litre bottle of anti-freeze home from work in the Stag (I have everything delivered to work, it's easier that having the dreaded "You weren't in" card).

I couldn't find it yesterday when I was opting to have a day off to do some work on the car. I looked everywhere at home, looked at work, couldn't find it anywhere.

And then, when closing the hood for the night last evening, I glanced in to the hood stowage well and there was the 5-litre bottle. I don't remember any difficulty stowing the hood this week!

I wonder if the three one-litre bottles of VR-1 are down there as well?

That's nice to know. How many bottles of wine can you get in there - I taking the Stag to France later in the year.

Taking the Stag camping to Le Mans next month, and intend to use the hood space as much as possible - allowing for top down travel of course...

My Stag is taking us to The Hague in the Netherlands next week - via the Tunnel so France and Belgium are en route. I'm planning to use as much stowage as required!
It's a good thing I fitted uprated rear springs earlier this year.

I have a few "essentials" in the hood stowage, bottle of 50/50 antifreeze for top ups, litre of oil, spare fan belts, spanner roll. Removed the bolts holding the seat back in place and replaced them with heavy duty Velcro, for ease of access direct from inside the car.

I fitted 40 bottles of wine in my Stag hood well and inner wings, whilst in France. I wrapped some of them in socks to stop them rattling.
Unfortunately I got stopped by the heavily armed French mobile drugs squad at a road block they set up for us near Marseille.
The wine was no problem, but the rounders bat and balaclava they found under the drivers seat was a bit awkward [I had put them there years before and forgot about them] Also I hadn't ever emptied the ashtray since I bought the car, so was pleased the sniffer dog passed that.
Unfortunately my brother who was with me, suffered sense of humour failure when they pulled the balaclava and bat out, so I never got the photo I asked him to take!
A twist of fate, stopped the Stag from being fully stripped at the roadside, and within half an hour we were on our way.
            Dave.
