    Mixture ok or too weak?

Took the plugs out of Dad's Stag today on a cold engine with a view to check the carb balancing knowing the air balance was correct

The plugs from left to right are No 1, No 3 and No 5

I know unleaded fuel gives you a grey colour rather than the honey brown colour but on these especially No 1, the insulator to me looks weak mixture. No 1 out of all 8 looks to be very 'clean' with a white terminal.

He has electronic ignition and plug gaps are set at 30thou

Comments much appreciated as to whether the carbs or one carb in particular needs enriching

    Cheers

Not wishing to be negative Andrew, but if it runs OK and the CO is within 2.5 & 4.5 % why fix what isn't broken.

I haven't taken the plugs out of mine for about 8K now it runs fine.returns reasonable MPG and last time I checked the CO was just over 2.8%

    Ian.

Hi Ian, I totally agree with you, it was only that I had concerns that they look very white in certain areas. Th etiickover is slightly lumpy he says but then he has his tick over quite low.

As long as there is no concerns, we'll leave well alone

      Cheers Ian
