    LDPart.co.uk

    All,

This week I have been dealing with LDPart (Peter Howells) regarding several Stag related issues and 'amazed' by the helpfulness and service I have received.

    Examples of this are:-

    1) Ordering a complete set of new fuses for the Stag. Not only did I receive them the very next day, but they were sorted and bagged according to their ratings. This made the replacement process very quick and easy.

I'm ashamed to say my original fuses were not the correct ratings for most cases and one of them was a piece of wire wrapped around the terminals - oops!

Have you checked yours? The cost was less than £3 for the lot! Not much for piece of mind...

    2) I was looking for recommended brake pads and Peter responded with details of the Unipart versions. I decided to purchase these, but when I did so, he actually suggested that I might source them cheaper locally and save on the cost of the postage. He even recommended a local supplier! The irony is, that when I contacted them, they were 'out of stock' and could get me them in, in the next 3-4 days. To icing on the cake, was that the total cost was higher than Peter's (with the postage).

At that point I e-mailed Peter and sure enough, there they were, sat on my desk, the very next morning.

    3) Upon receiving the pads, I decided I should replace the spilt pins that hold them in, while I was at... the very next morning...

    4) As some of you know, I am experiencing issues with my washer pump. I discussed this with Peter and he is looking at alternative designs to put in his shop. In the meantime... he has leant me a second-hand one!

    5) ...and finally, yesterday (Friday) I noticed my top hose was leaking at the thermostat housing. No matter how hard I tried to tighten it up, it still leaked. Closer inspection revealed that the hose has 'ballooned' at the thermostat end and is now too big and does not fit snugly onto the housing. I e-mailed Peter for a replacement and received confirmation that it had been sent. Later on I realised I hadn't asked hin to send it to my home address (I usually get my stuff sent to work). Oh well, I thought, it would just mean I would have to wait until Monday to get it, though I would have preferred to fit it this weekend... Guess what arrived in the post (at home) this morning? How did he know???

So... there you have it. A recommendation for LDPart and a level of service that, sadly, is all to rare these days.:dude:

    Best Regards,
    Chris

Peter is an owner and enthusiast, as well as being extremely knowledgeable and helpful.I have benefited from his free advice and excellent service also. I wish him much sucess with LDPart and always now suggest him as a first port of call for parts and advice.

Interestingly, along with the water bottle and pump, he is looking into a headertank setup, so watch this space.

I have recently had similar service from SOC Spares when I ordered a front wheel bearing kit.Answered in three rings, good price, delivered in less than 24hrs.

Although the box had aBritish Leyland sticker on it,the bearings were manufactured byDaewoo! They also came with a free giant split pin

I think I mentioned in another thread somewhere my experience with Peter Howells - I ordered some gaskets one afternoon, and he delivered them personally next morning at 7am. Can't get much better than that!

Totally agree with everything that has been said here.

My experience of dealing with LD Parts has beenway in excess of any expectation I may have had - not only a true enthusiast but a real gentleman too.

Peter has beenever so helpful inoffering suggestions and remedies and I would have no hesitationin recommendingLD Parts to any Stag owner.

                Top Man Peter !

Another update. SOC Spares do not list a telephone number in the contact box (when I last looked). Don't know if their previous advertised one still is active <shrug>
