    Caliper pistons

Just out of interest I see Peter at LDPart sells the pistons on stainless steel, are they all stainless steel from other suppliers or just steel that could rust or roughen up?

Thanks Dave. So as usual, Peter's parts are of the best quality.

I bought caliper pistons from. Wards a couple of years ago, and they were stainless then, but the new ones they sell are now not stainless, they had trouble with leaks

Hi Andrew, When I kitted the front calipers on the Spitfire I was supplied what looked like graphite reinforced pistons so they can't rust. Been in approx 6 years now, no problems. The calipers are 4 pot AP.

Originally i believe the pistons were chrome on steel.

I had some new in box ready to fit.

When I came to fit them, the chrome had lifted & had razor edges.

They were in AP lockheed boxes......avoid those.
