Check your drag struts sounds like one has broken.

      +1 for drag struts

Also check anti roll bar links......there are some cheap & far too skinny ones out there for sale (then scrap)
IMHO these parts need scrapping off & should not be offered for sale by anyone.

Failed drop links will leave witness marks on the track control arms. I have just bought a pair of the Paddocks upgraded ones to fit. this will be the 3rd set in 6 years

Just been there, bracket broken off drag strut. Rubbers were fine, as they should be, after 6 years, as were the links. LD parts!

Also check the anti-roll bar mounting bushes (where it bolts up to the chassis member). If these bushes are worn, you get a clunk as the suspension moves. it seems like it is from the top of the strut, and it can take a long time to find (guess how I know that!!)

Also , it's quite possible your struts have been replaced inside with sealed inserts that are just slid inside the strut and bolted down with a circular nut that needs its own tool to tighten properly, many owners have made their own tool for this job , it's just possible someone may have fitted this type and the nut has worked loose ,allowing the insert shock to move about in the strut housing , the nut is located under the gaiter ,it sits flush with the top of the strut and has two square lugs for the tool to sit in , regards Graham
