You were all correct . Brake shoes sticking on, all free now including the handbrake. Thank heavens it wasn't the BW, I was thinking it might be an excuse to upgrade to a ZF.

That will teach me not to park with the handbrake on. I wonder what other Stag secrets remain to be discovered!

Glad it was an easy (& cheap fix), Steve. The ZF isn't so cheap, but is certainly the way to go if the BW is problematic.
