There is a black plug on the side of the box with 2 pins in this operates the sport solenoid on the 4 hp 22 box but jpat do not have the plug and loom
any more. you could possibly get one from a breaker or Jaguar may be able to help.
That may be the case with the ZF from the XJ40 Sport, but not from the 'cooking' versions as far as I can make out. These pictures are of my first conversion 'box (now my spare) and the one fitted to my Stag is the same. Both came from 3.6 XJ40's.

Is that plug only on the bmw box,ive not seen one on the jag box
Here is a couple of pics of the gearbox I pulled as I thought I had a leak that turned out to be a jubilee clip that failed so it now sitting in my garage as the replacement is working fine. image.jpgimage.jpgAs you can see the early Bmw box as the 2 pin plug if any one has a plug to fit I would like to purchase.

Just solder your own cable onto the pins and then 'pot' the socket to seal out any moisture.

Where is that plug located on the gearbox, I can't work it out from the photos! Also, can you take a photo of the plate that has the 4HP22 model number on it? I want to see if my gearbox has the same plug and if it's the same model.
Thanks, Richard

Yesterday I applied 12v across the 2 pins and I could here a soliniod operate when I removed the 12v it returned.
Will need to wire up a switch and see what happens.
