    As I remember Chris, 260ohm Empty, 140ohm to the 2 spots above the 1/2 and 20ohm Full. You can take these values as a rough guide for testing old style Smiths temperature gauges too.

              The 9083 has 3 leads and is designed for fault finding, the older 12D is just a basic 2 lead multipurpose testing.

              As to whether I have misappropriated BT or GPO property, you might suppose that I have but I couldn't possibly comment.

                          turns out it's a SA9083, it survived having fallen of off a BT van in Crawley High St,I picked it up before it was flatten by a bus
