ps see my previous post re Hunter wheel balancing report if interested in that topic.
    Hi Paul,
I currently have 14 x 6 Minators which are a tad cheaper than Miniltes they look very similar and TH used them on his historic Stag racer - the main benefit is they don't corrode like Stag wheels so don't loose air at all, (I've had mine 10 years and they are 100% perfect) they are lighter so less un-sprung weight and if you have the 6" width rather than what most offerings are at 5.5 I think the car looks better and 195 tyres (the most suitable width at 14") sit better.
Having said all this the 16" x 7" on offer (when they are in) from Rimmers look very nice indeed and bearing in mind that good quality 14" tyres at the right width are very difficult to get, going up a wheel size or two maybe sensible.
    Cheers.

      Hi Mike
Another point relating to larger wheels/lower profiles should be better balancing results. When I had my standard 14'' Stag wheels Hunter balanced a few weeks back I was told part of the problem related to my nearly new high profile Vredestein Classics being harder to balance because such a high profile tyre is more inclined to move/distort on the rim.

I concur with that Paul, I was told the same thing some years back by a clued up tyre shop - some of the cheaper "big wall" tyres are a nightmare to balance

What size tyres would you put on 16 inch rims?
205/55 16 or possibly 225/50 16 if clearance would be my choice.

On my previous daily it had 225/50 16 and I always thought this was a good sensible size, low profile but still some rubber to survive a pot hole. Just think lower profile tyres today are more for style.

I was looking on some of the tyre/wheel comparison sites Mike and 205/55 came out favourite as being nearest the rolling circumference of 195/70's and for 7" rims - 215's might work but 225's would I think be too wide by some way.
I'm not sure of the need for anything over 205 really but all ideas are wor looking at.

              Cheers

So I contacted Minilite to see what their deal is on these wheels and they said "Rimmers have them in stock.."

Rimmers say they are waiting for them on back order..
