Wind deflector - any tips please?

    Hi all,

Sorry not been on for a while - patio laying duties etc etc!

I'm looking into buying a wind deflector - can anyone recommend a good make please?

Or perhaps more to the point, which ones to avoid?

Hope you're all enjoying the weather!!

    Regards

I have a "breezebreaker" which combines a mesh deflector with a tonneau cover. Works fine. http://www.breezebreaker.co.uk/

The Rimmers one is smoked plastic, the fixing rail is solid and it has a back seat cover. It does the intended job quite well.

        However, three faults:
        1. the one I got with my car needed some work before I could leave it in place with the soft top erected, the sides were too wide so fouled the hood frame.
        2. it slams against the T-bar when at speed.
        3. The reflective plastic makes it more difficult to see out of the rear view mirror.

If I were buying new, I'd probably buy elsewhere.

        Hope this helps,
        Richard

Breezebreaker for me too. Does the job well plus gives a good under-cover stowage are on the rear seats.

          Cheers,
          Mark.

Mine is a Breezebreaker and it is great, Chris also has the following email : chris.russell_tr@tiscalli.co.uk. He was also very helpful in getting it to me as I was out of the country so had it delivered to my daughter.

I prefer the mesh to plastic but some prefer the plastic, personal choice.

My daily convertible has a mesh as with most modern soft tops, also plastic can glare with the sun sometimes.

The mesh Breezebreaker is excellent. if you can get one.

Only thing I dont like is the fixing around back seat is Velcro to stick on to the trim, I am modifying mine to press studs.

I have just purchased a boss screen. At present I'm preferring it to my breeze breaker in that looking over your shoulder you get a good view without looking through the mesh also when reversing. Boss screens are becoming rare and I parted with just over £300 for mine it's so well made and looks part of the original car. I still like my breeze breaker however as it is clearly easier to stow away on longer trips.

I've got a Rimmer one and found the same problem as Richard re slamming against the Tbar at speed. Got Aldridge to make a couple of vinyl straps with velcro on, cut a couple of slots in the top of the screen, threaded them thro' and tied them round the T bar-no more slamming. Would agree with his other 2 comments.

I have an Audi A4 one. It fits well, matching the tee bar perfectly. Just need to add two thin velco straps to go around the tee bar. Use to be able to pick them up 2nd hand cheaply. Not checked availability/price lately. Craig

My wife bought me one of these last year. I used to have a breezebreaker on my TR6, however, I much prefer this one and it's lower cost. I particularly like being able to simply fold it up or down. Yesterday when it was really hot, I simply leant back and pushed it down. No connection with the seller by the way.
