My Stag has a leather covered, slotted Mota Lita steering wheel (I still have the original wheel in the garage). What I would like to achieve is a way to operate the horn from a centre horn push.
I am too stuck in my ways to find the horn on the Stag in moments of panic (I can still find the brake pedal though - and often that is enough). Sometimes I wish I could use either, the ens of the stalk OR the centre horn push.
When I drive my frog-eye this has a centre horn push which uses an insulated conducting spring-loaded pencil passed through an offset hole in the boss to earth the horn circuit when the button is pressed. It also needs a slip ring mounted on the column immediately behind the wheel which the pencil rubs against.
Has anyone experience of altering the Stag Wheel (or a Mota Lita one) to enable this functionality ? I know Mota Lita supply a horn push, but that is the really easy bit !
If no-one has done this, I guess I can take a few photos while I am engineering it, and pass them to anyone who expresses an interest.
