With this hot weather, the Stag is struggling a bit, kenlowe fan on all the time. Trying to find out if both fans are working together or against each other. Is the original (behind the rad) a blower letting hot air out from the engine through the radiator And the kenlowe pushing cool air back to the engine through the rad? If thats the case do they actually work against each other ?

Mines 2" smaller than yours Daddy. I'm worried about my car as temp gauge also doesn't go over half way, even on fast motorway runs and traffic jams of the last days. Fan has only came on once and that was after engine had stopped.
What is wrong with it, is there anything I should add to make it run hotter?

I am not saying this to cause offence or to irritate and it is not my intension to upset anyone, my car operates on an everyday basis in temps way beyond England experiences and I have never had cooling problems, true to say I keep it up to a standard but I only have the normal mods' Eg 4 core staggered rad , land rover header, Stagdad pump ( only for peace of mind ) and a 16 inch Kenlowe which cuts in and out now and again yep sure I do the 2 year flushing and use 50/50 bluecol . My only point has always been if you are experiencing overheating problems in colder climes surly there has got to be other problems as my car is no different to yours.

I had an idea whilst in hot weather in Cornwall this week. My fan never comes on and the temperature goes between 75 & 90 slightly hotter as expected when sat in traffic. I would love a fan that has the ability to stow away at 90 degrees then fold down when needed on a powered hinge you could even use a cable to be honest. I might develope this further but not yet looked to see if enough space is free between rad and front grill. At present my excellent cooling would be even better without the fan but I do like to have it as back up.

I have to concur with Graham, as we both run are Stags in hot temperatures in Southern Tenerife. My front fan though is a Pacet one and I have set the adjuster to come on at a certain coolant temperature (which it does). Temperature gauge hardly ever moves from it's normal position, and to prove that the Pacet is needed and does it's job, when we drove the Stag over in 2004 the fuse on the Pacet blew when we were almost home, and on a steep climb the needle shot up to the red mark. Once fixed it never happened again.
