Fitting LD Parts rubber washers to increase adjustment on Tex mirrors

    Hi,

I've got a set of washers from LD parts. Can someone please tell me how to fit them? I've loosened the nut on the mirror but don't see how to separate the mirror from the stem to fit the washer?

    Hi Graham,

There is a small screw securing the arm to the part of the mirror with the nut on. You need to remove the screw and pull the mirror out of the arm. You then fit the washer under the nut and reassemble it.

      Thanks Tony,

So do I have to remove the mirror grass to access the screw?

      Sorry if I'm being thick!

        Hi Graham,

I have just re-read this! No the screw is in the arm that comes off the door, it is a small Phillips screw just below the part with the nut on. I thought you were on about the nut and the rubber washer!!!

Thanks Tony - I've found the screw! God knows why I did not notice it before! Washers all fitted now, and my mirrors are no longer just ornaments on my doors! What as difference!

              Graham,

Just be careful not to knock the mirrors if you have tightened them up. The washers will break if stessed.

I think you will find that they are now made from a much tougher material, and will distort before they break. I tested them!

That is good to hear, Mike. I went through a few in a short while, but the ones fitted now have lasted longer. But then, I have been more careful with them.......
